Perfectly Priceless Pink

This is my take on the Limited Supplies and Sketch Challenge from Split Coast Stampers. Limited Supplies was to use only white and one other color. For this card I used Pretty in Pink and Berry Bliss paper (that was just the pink side) to go with the rules. I'm really enjoying these challenges at Split Coast! They really make me think outside my comfort zone and make me try new things.

I used my new Priceless set, I love this set so much! I took washers, knotted ribbon and threaded it though so the knot was on top. Attached the washers to the flowers with glue dots. I embossed the saying with white on the berry bliss paper.

Supplies: Pretty In Pink Paper and ink, Versamark (for embossing) Berry Bliss dsp, "Priceless" Stamp set, Making Memories metal washers and ribbon charm, pink organdy ribbon, white embossing powder, glue dots, Powder Pal, Embossing Buddy

And I got a text from my friend at Fort Sill, they got my package today! They were so happy to get something from home!

Mojito Sunset

Another boss of mine has to travel to our remote locations quite frequently. One of those is in California so I always tease him that he is going to be sipping Mojito's on the beach instead of working. He always says he wishes that were true and that his wife was with him sipping those Mojito's. Can you tell we like to say M-O-J-I-T-O-S! So last week (or so...) he gave me a gift card to my favorite restaurant Cracker Barrell because I'm just so awesome! I did a bunch of reports he was behind on and got a lot of other things taken care of. I told him it was my job and wasn't a problem but he was so happy it was all done that he wanted me to know how thankful he was. Anyways, this was a long time in coming, but I wanted to make a Thank You for him and to let him know that he's appreciated for what he does at the office, too.

I had seen this tutorial on SCS and knew that's what I wanted to do. I know Mojitos are green, but I wanted the yellow just for fun on the cup, but I got a little carried away with the purple!

So this might not be the coolest card I've ever made, but one I'm pretty happy with! White cardstock was cut 6x11 and the vellum cup I just measured out and freehand cut. I wanted to create the beach, ocean and sunset so I sponged everything! I started out with Creamy Caramel for the beach, Brocade Blue for the ocean, and then added in the sunset. Always do lighter colors and then add in the darker ones when sponging as you can go darker, but you can't really go lighter! Base of the sunset was Summer Sun (lol perfect!), then Pumpkin Pie, Cameo Coral, Regal Rose, Rose Red and finally Elegant Eggplant (in that order). Then Eggplant was used on the ocean, and then the beach I went back in with Close to Cocoa. For the cup I used Garden Green and Summer Sun and then used Crystal Effects on the top and sprinkled Ultra Thick Embossing Powder over it. But don't heat set it! Again no clue on a Mojito, Copper Camels are more my style, but I wanted to have salt on the rim! Crystal Effects were then added onto the surf and out in the ocean. I didn't have time to run and get straws, or a fun umbrella, but it would have really added to it!
My family lives in Florida so I for sure have to make one of these cards for my Mom. Hers will definately get an umbrella and maybe a fruit slice on the edge!
Alright so here is a supply list because that is a long paragraph!
Supplies: Whisper White Cardstock, Vellum, Adhesive, Crystal Effects, UTE Power, Sponge
Inks: Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Brocade Blue, Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, Cameo Coral, Regal Rose, Rose Red, Elegant Eggplant, Garden Green

I Can't "Contain" Myself!

We had a big work meeting where they unveiled this "exciting" campaign so to speak. So to get everyone pumped (?) about it they put this new little logo on a few things. One of the little things was M&Ms. So why am I posting about that here? The little M&Ms came in these cute little tins. As soon as I saw them they practically screamed at me to be decorated! I grabbed 1 extra and have collected a couple more from co-workers. They are all curious to see the finished product now! Here is the one I have made for myself, and my daughter has requested one for herself now as well! (It was always my plan to make her one though!)

Here is mine!

For the top I used the two butterflies from the Love & Happiness Rub-ons. (Expect me to use these a lot!) The lid wouldn't fit on over the paper, so I cut it about 5/8" and used Modge Podge to secure it, then added the ribbons.

Supplies: Berry Bliss Paper (the light pink blooms side), Modge Podge, White Grograin, Pink Gingham ribbon, Love & Happiness Rub-ons

I'm still wondering what to store in it though!

Then I decided I wanted to make another pop-tab can for my boss. It has been so crazy at work these past two weeks that I thought she needed a pick me up. She is so wonderful to work with and has really become a great friend to me. I can't wait to give this to her tomorrow!

This is the reverse side of the Berry Bliss paper I used for my little tin. I used more flowers from the Love & Happiness Rub-ons set for the top circle as well as the flower on the tag. I crimped the paper and then accordian folded it to make the inside filler. Finished it off with ribbon and a tag. I you haven't already seen how to do these, you need a special can opener! You can find the tutorial here.

Here is the top view of all the ribbon around the pull tab and the flowers.

And this is what it should look like when she opens it...full of chocolate!
Supplies: Berry Bliss paper, Pretty in Pink Cardstock, Crimper, Close to Cocoa Cardstock, Large Tag Punch, Love & Happiness Rub-ons, Pink Rhinestone Brad, Hole Punch, Silver Cord, Misc. pink and brown ribbon, Glue dots and adhesive, Crystal Effects
And once again I probably won't get the sketch or color challenges fitted in tonight, dangit!
