My First Post

Alright, my first post! I'm hoping that with a blog I will make more time to stamp! It seems like life has been so crazy and hectic lately! I realize I will never be able to stamp every day because of work, the kids and everything in between, but at least I can put what I do here! I plan on signing up as a Stampin' Up Demonstrator next year, so I hope to build this up as well as get myself to that level of producing on demand so to speak! I love creating just for the fun of it, butI think I do better when I have a challenge!

I finally finished a few projects that were lingering around and I was able to do a card for Split Coast's recent Sketch and Color Challenges!

First up is the project I finally finished! This is a mug and a pop-tab can for my Mom! I have decided I really need a new camera because I'm just not getting the detail that I want.

The mug I found at the dollar store and I was so pleased with how it turned out! The top rim has brown that matched perfectly with the Stampin Up Celebrations Rub-ons. The saying at the bottom says, "You make me happy." Which really is perfect for my Mom.

Supplies: Brown "Love & Happiness" Rub-Ons

This is a pop-tab can, my very first actually! I made six of these, for my Mom, sisters, and three girlfriends.

Supplies: Three Bugs in a Rug Paper, Chocolate Chip Paper (top), brown and pink grograin, Pretty in Pink & Whisper White for the tag, Small and Large Tag Punches, So Saffron (flower), Flower Punch, White Brad, Silver Cording, Crystal Effects (to seal the bottom)

This is my second! I made these for the boys, my Dad, brother, and brother in-law. I filled both sets of these with Easter grass and lots of candy!

Supplies: Chatterbox Paper, Brocade Blue (tag and top), Whisper White (tag), white and blue grograin, Small and Large Tag Punches, Crystal Effects and Egg Stamp from "Spring Fling" stamped in Brocade Blue

I wanted to send my family (they live in Florida, and I have a sister in Oregon) some fun Spring/Easter things. With Easter being early this year, unfortunately my bunny was late! These are going out a week after Easter! I am horrible at mailing things, but my family knows and understands that about me! I also made three of them for my girlfriends that are serving at Fort Sill (Oklahoma) right now. They deploy to Iraq next month! I really wanted to send them something to let them know I'm thinking about them and wishing them the best!

And finally, a card I made for Split Coast Stampers Sketch Challenge! I also combined it with the color challenge and the limited supplies challenge. I scanned this in so you could better see the detail that I know my camera won't pick up, however, because of the brads it didn't get the one side as well. Oh well! At least the part with the detail you can see!

I didn't have the Grey or Soft Sky so I used the substitute Bashful Blue and Basic Black with Whisper White. For my first Sketch and Color Challenge I had tons of fun!! The limited supplies stumped me a little because I knew it had to be a flower card and I wondered what little embellishment I could use to finish it off. Then it hit me! I had bought this lace to do baby cards with and didn't end up liking it as well when I got it home. (Lol doesn't that happen a lot?!) And this was the first time I used this stamp set. So needless to say, I was really happy with how it turned out!

Supplies:
Paper: Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: Bashful Blue, Basic Black
Stamp Set: Priceless (Stampin' Up)
Other: Lace, Rhinestone Brads and Crystal Effects
For the background I stamped in blue the large swirl and used the smaller swirl in black for the largest background piece. I used Crystal Effects on the flower petals and also on the butterfly. The butterfly I used the Rock and Roll technique. I scored and folded up the middle and glued just down the center, so he is hovering on the page. And I promise, its not as crooked as it looks irl!
